R&D Center
The Shantui R&D Center was established to ensure that Shantui remains on the leading edge of product development, with an R&D system integrating product development, research on key technologies, trial production, and experimentation. It consists of innovative platforms such as the national-level technical center, the provincial-level engineering technology research center, and the Post-doctoral Research Lab.
With the aim of cultivating first-class talent and developing first-class products, the Center consolidates key resources and set up a Technical Center Office, a Technology Management Department, a Standardization Institute and other specialty institutes, along with an Experimentation Center. This system takes inputs from the business divisions into account to establish research platforms for the company, thereby forming a complete research and development system of technical management, development and design, trial production and experimentation.
The company has set up a Beijing Branch of the Shantui Construction Machinery Research Institute, featuring an internationalized R&D platform.
The Center has several areas of focus, such as the comprehensive performance test room for transmission systems, the crawler chassis test room, the device intelligence test room, the hydraulics test room, the product analysis center, the trial production facility, and the experimentation center. These form a complete new product test system, effectively certifying completed machines and their key parts.
The Center uses advanced development methods, such as advanced 3D and simulation software, as well as PDM data management systems, which effectively integrates the processes of development and design, technology and manufacturing. The Center also employs collaborative design methods, improving the speed and quality of product development.
In order to strengthen cooperation with universities and cultivate its core competencies, the Company has established long term cooperative relationships with various universities and specialty companies such as Tongji University, Zhejiang University, Chang'an University, University of Sciency & Technology Beijing, Shandong University, and Shandong University of Technology. Together, they are engaged in multiple technical projects, with research underway on cutting edge technologies in the construction machinery industry, as well as the National Science & Technology Pillar Program.
The company assigns much importance to bringing in and cultivating professional technical personnel, and has invited construction machinery experts from Germany, Japan, Switzerland and Italy to conduct technical consultations and training seminars. In addition, the company has sent abroad many senior and mid-level technical management personnel for advanced studies. These efforts effectively contribute to the talent cultivation of the company, placing it squarely on the road to becoming a top multinational construction machinery manufacturer.
